A tour of the Vendée coastline
The Vendée coastline is known for its three different faces. First of all, the Corniche du Bois Vinet which dominates the estuary of the Vie river, offering us during the stroll, the Small Castles of the Corniche, typical buildings of the 19th century seaside architecture.
Then the Corniche vendéenne from the Pelle à Porteau to the Anse de la Goutaille, a classified site since 1926 representing the only remaining part of the old Ile de Rié. Finally the walk on the cliffs of SionThis is a rocky area subject to intense erosion because of its northwestern exposure, where every year in winter the famous red algae so coveted for their nutritive virtues are washed up, especially by farmers who use them as fertilizer.
Little corners of nature
If you are curious, discover the treasures of this cornice like the Trou du Diable, the 5 Pineaux, the Josephine Tower or the Grosse Terre lighthouse or the Pilhours rock.
La bourrine du Bois Juquaud located 500 meters from the campsite, an authentic place that will immerse you in the traditions of the Maraîchines.
Discover the varied and splendid landscapes by crossing the cities on the canals by canoe or boat. Be amazed by our typical fauna and flora of the Vendée marshes. You can also take this path on the Aigrettes which will take you up the Vie river, the Marais to arrive at the Lac des Vallées where you can practice various activities on the water. If you like fishing, take to the sea with the Mephisto or the Ami du Pêcheur.
To visit our beautiful islands of Noirmoutier and Yeu, the shuttles will drop you off in the port of Herbaudière or Port Joinville. The wild coasts of these islands will amaze you by their beauty but also their specificities.
